Frances Merrill of Reath Design Talks Fall Design Inspiration With The Wall Street Journal

Frances Merrill of Reath Design recently spoke with The Wall Street Journal about fall design updates for the home. To add some coziness, not to mention an incredibly durable surface, Frances loves to upholster furniture with antique and vintage rugs and heavy textiles. People often have rugs and other textiles just sitting around not being used so upholstering with these items is not only cost-effective and sustainable but their often beautiful faded colors and texture offer a worn in, casual luxury that brand new fabrics do not!

Expert tip from Frances: for family’s with young children, she often will upholster the living room coffee table which provides high impact style while doing away with potentially dangerous sharp corners.
