Pappy’s menu emphasizes sustainable and local seafood, sourced fresh from the Port of Los Angeles. Classic seafood fare and an assortment of house-made drinks are made from high quality, fresh ingredients. Highlights include shrimp cake sliders, fish & chips, a clambake party, Brazilian Moqueca Stew, and a customizable, fresh fish grill. Eater LA writes, “the Morenas should have no problem bringing seafood and craft beer and a casual vibe (complete with live music and events) to the address. After all, they’re already the owners of The Albright on the Santa Monica Pier.”
The comfortable yet upscale dining experience appeals to families and happy hour-goers. Owners Yunnie and Greg Morena celebrate the motley heritage of the historic structure through the restaurant’s new design, creating a classic, seaside atmosphere. Influenced by the mix of San Pedro’s new and old cultures, Pappy’s décor pays homage to the city’s vintage L.A. roots. The interior space is anchored by a reclaimed brass bar from the old Fisherman’s Market at The Ports o’ Call, which serves craft beers on tap, an assortment of local wines, and will soon offer a selection of signature cocktails.
Pappy’s Seafood is located at 301 West 6th Street in Downtown and is open Sunday through Thursday, 11:30am – 10:30pm and Friday and Saturday from 11:30 to 1:30am.
